Giving from the Heart: How We Support the Gift from the Heart Foundation (Dar Serca)

At Beyond the Courage, we believe in the power of community and compassion. That’s why we proudly support the Gift from the Heart Foundation (Dar Serca), a not-for-profit organization that has been transforming the lives of children with special needs since 1988. Based in Schiller Park, Illinois, Dar Serca is dedicated to providing critical medical care and support for children with orthopedic disabilities and other complex health conditions, regardless of their country of origin.

Through our partnership with Dar Serca, you and us help fund essential services such as:
  • Access to specialized medical treatments and expert diagnoses for children with severe orthopedic conditions.
  • Housing, transportation, and translation services for families traveling from abroad for care.
  • Vital supplies like medications, rehabilitation equipment, and orthopedic devices.
  • Living expenses for children and their families during their time in the U.S.
  • Free summer camps for local children with disabilities, offering them joyful experiences and community connection.
  • After-school programs for children with conditions like autism, Down’s syndrome, and cerebral palsy to help improve their quality of life.
